Description:
The Eagle Dance dramatizes the relationship between the eagle and humans and the sky powers. I chose the location of Acoma cliff and the Enchanted Mesa for its atmosphere of romance and mystery. The shadow of Acoma stretches across the burning desert floor, a cooler place to stand while watching the great Spirit Birds circling and suddenly swooping to touch earth. The cloud-scraping cliff rises to hold an ancient terraced pueblo 350 feet above the earth.
